Today’s SENIOR SPOTLIGHT is: Marah Huskey. Marah will attend the University of Central Arkansas in the fall, where she plans to major in business. After college, Marah would like to join the business world as a pharmaceutical rep!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!!! Senior, Caitlin Smith, has been accepted to National Park College in Hot Springs, AR. She plans to start working toward becoming a Registered Nurse at National Park, and then becoming a Travel Nurse! Be on the lookout for more Senior Spotlight posts, so we can celebrate our seniors’ big accomplishments!

Sargent Deam with the United States Army was on campus this week talking with students and giving information about the Army!

ATTENTION HORNET FANS!! Our Jr. Boys Basketball Team is in the FINALS of the Jr. High District Tournament!! They will play Mt. Ida on their home court tomorrow (Saturday, February 12th) at 6:15! We want to pack the house with as many Hornet fans as possible!! We will be sending a fan bus to the tournament! It will be of no cost, but will only be available to the first 65 students and parents! 🔴⚪️THE FAN BUS WILL LEAVE FROM THE GYM PARKING LOT AT 4:00. ⚪️🔴 Students can ride with parents permission and parents can ride the bus with their student. All riders will need $5 to enter the game and money for food ($10-$20). If you have any questions or to sign up, please call (870-874-2281) or send your student to the High School office. Let’s show our school spirit and help our Hornets beat the Lions!!

Attention parents and guardians: We want to know what you think about adopting a 4 day school week for the 2022-2023 school year. Your elementary student is bringing home a yellow copy of the survey. Please share your thoughts and return the survey in your student's folder the next day. Thank you for your input!

Since we were out last week for snow, Student Council will accept orders for Valentine’s flowers and Crush Bags through Thursday, February 10th!!! If you need another order form, email Mr. Mishler at Justin.mishler@blevinshornets.org

Attention parents of SENIORS!!!!!! On Thursday, February 10 at 5:00 pm there will be a representative from the UAHT financial aid office in the cafeteria to help fill out FAFSA forms. You do not have to be attending UAHT for them to help you. Students should bring their charged chrome book, and parents should bring their 2020 tax returns. FASFA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. There are many grants and scholarships attached for this that can be used for college and trade schools. If you have questions regarding this, please contact Mr. Mishler at Justin.mishler@blevinshornets.org

Due to the high risk of inclement weather, the Blevins School District will be utilizing an AMI day for Thursday, February 3, 2022. No classes will be held on campus. Students should have access to AMI packets or their work should be available in the Google Classrooms. If you have any questions, please email your student’s teachers or building principal.

Student Council is selling Valentine’s Day flowers and Valentine’s Day Crush bags!! The flowers are a real carnation and will be $3. The “Crush Bags” will have a crush soda and Valentines candy in them, they are $5. Orders and money are due February 8th! Order forms have been sent home. Don’t forget!! Tonight’s game is Senior Night! Come out and support our Senior athletes and the rest of the Hornet basketball teams! The Junior Girls will get things started at 5:30!

Hornet Pantry is open until 3:30 today. Food boxes available at the school cafeteria.

Student Council will be hosting a blood drive on Friday, 1-28-2022, from 8:30am-2:30pm. The LifeShare Blood Donation bus will be parked in the parking area between the cafeteria and the elementary gym. Hornet Basketball Update!! Tomorrow night’s game against Gurdon has been CANCELLED. There will be no games tomorrow night. Tuesday night the JR Girls, SR Girls, and SR Boys will travel to Mount Ida for a conference game beginning at 5:30. Thursday night the JR Girls, SR Girls, and SR Boys will play at Home for a conference game against Kirby, starting at 5:30. Friday night is SENIOR NIGHT! The JR Girls, SR Girls, and SR Boys will play Ouachita at 5:30. Come out and support our Hornets!

ATTENTION—TEMPORARY BUS ROUTE CHANGES: Mr. Stovall’s MORNING route will run late tomorrow, Monday, January 24th. The bus will pick students up students in Delight at approximately 8:00-8:15. The afternoon route will run at the regular time. Mr. Clifford’s AFTERNOON route will run early tomorrow, Monday, January 24th. The morning route will run at the regular time. Tomorrow night's home game against Mineral Springs is youth night. Any 3rd-6th grade pee wee player that wears their jersey gets in for FREE!!! Games will start at 5:30 with the Junior Girls and both senior high teams to follow! Come out and support our Hornets!

From the nurse: If you RECEIVED a letter about their child immunizations, please be working to get them up to date so their child doesn't miss any school. BMI/SCOLIOSIS screenings will take place next week. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please return either the form that was sent home, or send handwritten note signed by the parent (no phone calls will be accepted) by Monday, January 24.

Good Afternoon! Our varsity game for tomorrow has been moved to Thursday. That means the pee wee games for Thursday are going to be moved. I will let you know what the plan is. We still have junior high games tomorrow night starting at 5. So, Wednesday will be the only time the high school gym will be open. - Coach Kizer
