Dear Parents, It is time once again for Friends for Santa. Friends for Santa is a volunteer program set up by Blevins faculty members over 25 years ago to help purchase Christmas gifts for children from families who might not otherwise enjoy this season of giving and who live in the Blevins School District. Below is an electronic application for Friends for Santa. The online application should be submitted by Sunday, November 14, 2021, so that applications can be processed and volunteer sponsors be located. No one else may nominate your child for this program. If a family is not able to make application online, then please call 870-874-2281 and leave a call-back number. A Friends For Santa volunteer will return your call and take your application over the phone. Upon receipt of your application, a committee made up of Blevins faculty and staff will review each application, and you will be notified through the mail by November 30, if your child has been accepted into this program. If you know of a family in our community with children not yet school-age, but who you feel would qualify for the program, please pass this information along to them. If you would like to help buy gifts for this program, please call 870-874-2281 and leave a message for a Friends For Santa volunteer, or send an email to jennifer.stegall@blevinshornets.org. If you have any questions, please contact Blevins Schools at 874-2281 or 874-2283, and leave a message with Mrs. Haley Hinton or Mrs. Sandra Nivens. A Friends for Santa volunteer will return your call. The link to the Friends for Santa 2021 Application is the Google Form below. https://forms.gle/2gpJFt8oKfeCG5DZ6

Today, Blevins Student Council hosted over 100 students from surrounding schools for the 2021 Student Council Southwest Leadership Workshop. Our students led presentations on problem solving and ethics, and then presented a SwapShop of Ideas, where all the students were able to share ideas and activities they do at their schools. A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Laura Clark for being the guest speaker, and also a huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Dunham and her crew for providing lunch for all the students!
